Is it true that Sam Bankman-Fried Gave $5 Billion To Trump To Not Run For President in 2024?
According to Michael Lewis, Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of the now-defunct cryptocurrency exchange FTX, thought about giving Donald Trump $5 billion in exchange for him not to run for president. Lewis is well known as the author of “The Big Short” and “Flash Boys.”
We could pay Donald Trump to withdraw from the presidential race, Sam reasoned. Specifically, how much would it cost?
He actually received a response. There was a particular number that was in circulation. The estimate that was being bandied about when I was speaking with Sam about this was $5 billion,” Lewis stated.
Lewis alleged that Bankman-Fried was not aware of Trump’s approval of the $5 billion amount. According to Lewis, the FTX founder also questioned if it would be lawful to pay Trump to get out of the race.
According to Lewis, Sam Bankman-Fried’s portfolio consists mostly of two things. The first is pandemic prevention because there are crucial things that the government needs to undertake and because Donald Trump is an interesting issue.
Lewis continued, “He saw Trump attempting to undermine democracy and he thought, ‘Trump is- belongs on the list of existential risks.'”
