OKX Exchange Launches X1 Testnet Built With Polygon CDK

OKX and Polygon Labs have launched the “X1” testnet, a Layer 2 zero-knowledge network. By positioning OKX’s platform token, OKB, as the foundation for transaction fees on X1, this creative endeavor strategically advances the token’s usefulness.

The foundation of X1’s development is the Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK), a set of tools that has allowed OKX to play a significant role in the project. The goal of OKX’s major engineering resource allocation is to make Ethereum more scalable. This action demonstrates a substantial commitment in the future of blockchain technology and highlights the need for more efficient and scalable platforms.

One noteworthy aspect of X1 is its smooth Ethereum-based DApp deployment environment, which makes it compatible with Ethereum. This interoperability with various smart contracts, wallets, and tools ensures a secure and user-friendly experience. X1’s design incorporates ZK proofs, lowering transaction costs while enhancing scalability and security.

Chief Innovation Officer of OKX Jason Lau states that X1 is positioned to be a major platform in exposing users to Web3. X1 provides developers with a reliable network on which to build user-centric Web3 applications without sacrificing network compatibility. This feature is essential for a blockchain ecosystem to operate properly.

The potential of Polygon Labs’ August release of the CDK to make Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain construction easier has drawn notice. By establishing a common ZK bridge across various blockchains, interoperability can be attained. Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, views X1’s adoption of the CDK as a significant advancement that will make it possible for ZK-powered L2 networks to be incorporated into the Polygon ecosystem.

With the introduction of X1, a significant milestone in blockchain technology has been achieved. By collaborating, OKX and Polygon Labs have not only upped the bar for blockchain development but also shown how collaborative innovation can be used to create a blockchain ecosystem that is more unified, efficient, and user-friendly.
