OpenAI Welcomes Back Sam Altman As CEO

OpenAI just announced that Sam Altman will be taking over as CEO. Bret Taylor (Chair), Larry Summers, and Adam D’Angelo make up the new first board of directors that Altman will manage alongside his prior tenure as CEO, which spanned from 2015 to 2019.

Altman’s return coincides with OpenAI’s rapid expansion and transformation. The company is now concentrated on making sure that artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are used safely and ethically, having achieved significant progress in this area.

OpenAI benefits from the depth of experience the new board of directors offers. Summers was the U.S. Treasury Secretary, D’Angelo is the CEO of Pinterest, and Taylor is co-founder and CEO of Salesforce.

With Altman at the helm and the new board providing direction, OpenAI is well-positioned to carry on creating and implementing AI solutions that advance humankind.
